Are YOU juicy material?

Recently, I was informed of a ridiculous website that's widely used around college campuses today.  A gossip site where you merely type in the name of your school and are immediately blasted with hundreds of topics ranging from the best parties, the fattest girls, or even the most "promiscuous" ladies.  It's truly unbelievable.
Appropriately named "Juicy Campus," the site prides itself on over 53,000 posts and nearly 400 campuses referenced.  Their slogan, "C'mon. Give us the juice" encourages students nationwide to trash talk fellow students and because they promise total confidentiality, people actually waste their time doing it.  I don't know about you, but I find it completely pathetic that students have low enough self-esteem to waste their time bashing others, whom are often unaware.  If you have something to say someone be man enough to say it to their face, not post it on a gossip website.

Check out SMU's page.  Who knows, maybe you'll even find some dirt on yourself.

Wow, I just looked on that site, and I have to say, I'm amazed. I couldn't believe all of the things that I was reading on this site. I saw a few people I knew in the articles as well. There were both positive and negative things written about them, but nevertheless, how low can you go?
When I first read the above post, I kinda chuckled at the idea. I thought it would be random gossip, but nothing too harmful. But after doing a little research on the site, I couldn't believe my eyes. This is a truly awful site. I would not encourage participation.

Some folks just need to get a life. I completly agree with the posting that if you have a problem with somebody then man up and tell it to their face. I wouldn't even have a problem with them posting it on the internet if they weren't to scared to be noticed. At least put your name down instead of making your name classified material. I'm not even going to go to the sight. That is how sick this makes me. Be productive citizen's and reach out to people, don't intentially bash other appearences. I'm bashing people right now however, but at least it is not about their looks, it is about their lack of courage and morality. Great article.

Im finding myself agreeing with Number 98 on all the blog topics! Juicy Campus is PATHETIC! If it was all screened with a lie-detector maybe it would be okay but people's gossip IS gossip not the truth. It's hard enough to assimilate into a new group of friends and all of college as it is without random people judging and bashing you unfairly. A couple of my friends are on there that they are bitches and so on. Alot of people defended them on the comments but I could tell it hurt her feelings because I know how nice she is. Yah, she parties and people know who she is but i guess someone had something against her?? I dont know but it serves no purpose but for the shallow to "get-back" at life. Furthermore, how do they have enough time? yah, everyone loves facebook but its more a positive thing- quite the opposite. Personally,I want the site taken down. If someone had a problem with me, clearly the better and more productive way to do it would be to confront me PERIOD

I never had to face the awful underworld of cyberbullying where I come from. I suppose this is similar to what celebrities must ignore on a daily basis--only people with empty, unfulfilling lives believe the things they read on gossip sites and magazines. The truth can be twisted out of shape and published to the ENTIRE WORLD in a matter of seconds. It's unfair for the victims, and says much about those who actively post items on those sites.
